News – News - News

Currently  Susan is taking time out from performance storytelling and associated work to spend more time with her young family. This is StoryRoots loss, but Susan’s own young children’s gain.

Watch this space for Susan’s return.

However, StoryRoots work continues with Maggie, sometimes Jane, and others.  Please go to Maggie’s page to find out more.

Once upon a time…
There were two storytellers – Maggie Weber and Susan Samm.

One day...
Maggie and Susan discovered their shared love of the oral tradition of storytelling whilst working together in early year’s education.

By and By...
This led to the pair journeying on a quest to develop their storytelling skills to professional performance standards.

And then….
Naturally, this development led to a wider demand of the duo’s storytelling talents and inspired them to form StoryRoots in the Spring of 2004.

 Continuing the adventure…
Working as a team, StoryRoots present a dynamic and interactive storytelling style that has gained them recognition as the region’s leading storytelling partnership.

And then something else happened…

Maggie and Susan were frequently asked if they would / could pass on their skills to other early year’s workers.  As a consequence StoryRoots have developed successful storytelling workshops for a range of settings.
(
See workshop page for details and dates of future workshops)

And now...

As the duo have become increasingly popular and are in high demand,   storyteller, Jane Lambourne comes along from time to time to work with StoryRoots too. (To find out more about Jane, visit: www.wassledine.co.uk.)

And so they are living happily ever after…
StoryRoots love the work they do. They perform extensively in their home county of Bedfordshire and frequently travel further afield to present both performances and storyteller workshops.

Maggie, Susan and Jane are founder members of the Bedfordshire storytelling club ‘Fibs and Fables’.
