The past two decades have seen Maggie deeply involved in the study of
music. This has been both for personal and professional development, the latter
including extensive exploration and study of music for young children. This has
furnished Maggie with deep understanding of the power and value of music to
children’s holistic development.
Couple this with Maggie’s own childhood of long days spent outdoors, with
nature providing constant inspiration for creative storytelling and music,
followed by a love of and further training in working outdoors with children
and you have the desired components and enthusiasm for both running outdoor
music/story/activity sessions with young children and also in empowering adult
learners with the confidence, resources and rationale to do likewise.

Early Years Outdoor Music Workshop

This is an interactive,
outdoor workshop to present ideas and inspiration for participants to engage
with children in music activities outdoors. The content will focus on the natural world as a springboard to promote
spontaneous music making outdoors.
Methods used include:
· Active music
making outdoors.
· Making
percussion instruments from natural materials.
· Adapting
‘nursery favourites’ to outdoor use.
· Exploring music
in nature.
