Story Parties.

Most weekends Susan can be found bouncing around Bedfordshire entertaining children at parties.
Susan makes each party a special occasion for the birthday child. Susan keeps the children enthralled through a mix of traditional, modern and re-created stories activities and games.
Taking your child’s impending age, and your indication of your child’s current interests as a starting point, Susan will work with you to decide a party theme that your child requests or that you know they would like. Susan then designs the party to meet your requirements. The result is that each party is presented as unique just for your child.
Favourite
themes include

Princesses – Witches and Wizards – The Moon
– Pirates - Kings
and Queen’s – Fairy Tales – Under Water

What Happens At Party Time?
One Hour Schedule
If you book Susan for one hour, she attends to entertain the children for the first hour of the party, and leaves as they start the birthday feast.
Cost for one hour: £90
Susan can stay for a second hour as well:
Two Hour Schedule.
As with the one hour schedule Susan entertains the children for the first hour.
The birthday feast follows. This usually lasts approximately 20 – 30 minutes.
After food and the cake, Susan continues entertainment with the children for the remaining time.
Cost for two hour party: £140
[Please note for parties outside Bedfordshire travel expenses may occur]
What Do I Have to Do?
The party host provides the venue, the food, party bags, and of course the young party guests!
Leave the rest to Susan.
If you book Susan for your child’s party, she has just two requests!
Please no loose balloons in the party
area.
If adults are accompanying their children, they are most welcome to join in and play with the children. If they prefer not to and wish to socialise with each other – Susan’s request is that adults chat in ‘small’ voices!
Attention to these two requests makes for a more enjoyable party for everyone. Susan knows from experience that stories, popping balloons and big adult chat, don’t mix well. - Thank you

Party Feedback:
“I was delighted with Laurence's
party. Laurence and all the children enjoyed it very much, and so did the
adults. I liked the fact that it was such a different party, imaginative and
creative.” Silvia
“That was the best party I have ever been to. The children were enraptured for the whole hour listening, joining in and running around in the garden playing ‘What is the time Mr Wizard?’ Thank you I really enjoyed it! “Rachel
“Thank you for making Hugo’s party
special everyone is talking about it.” Amy
Age related Party Guide
Parties for 3 year olds.
Parties for three year old’s are best if they are simple and interactive.
To make for a successful party for 3 year old’s, ideally, most of the children should be close to 3 or 3 +.
Maximum number of recommended guests is 15.
Parties for this age group are ideally held at home.
Stories for the young are very much a shared experience, sometimes involving the children on imaginary journeys, e.g. to collect food for rabbit, or joining in the chorus of a story. Susan intersperses stories with simple games, e.g. Musical animals or ‘What’s the time Mr Wizard?’
Parties for 4 & 5 year olds.
Similar to above. As the children get older they can start taking on individual parts within a story and engaging in slightly more complex games. The numbers may increase (Max 20/25)
Parties for 6 & 7 year olds
These parties involve longer more detailed stories, with the children acting out parts. Team games can now be played. No limit on numbers of children. (Well, almost no limit – a class full is fine - but perhaps not the whole school!)
Parties for 8 +
A wonderful mix of the traditional longer stories can now be told. In addition to Susan telling, the children can weave their own stories or draw story maps. They may all go on a Knights quest – Roman invasion or a magical Wonder Tale journey. Or even for older children a scary night tale!
